When is the best time for a maternity session?
The ideal time for a maternity session is between -28 and 34 weeks- of pregnancy. During this window, your bump is beautifully prominent, but you're still comfortable enough to move and pose with ease. We recommend scheduling your session in advance to ensure availability. As your due date approaches, we'll finalize the exact date based on how you're feeling and your schedule.
What should I wear for my maternity session?
We recommend choosing outfits that make you feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident. Flowing fabrics, form-fitting dresses, and soft neutral tones photograph particularly well. During your consultation, we'll discuss wardrobe options and provide guidance on colors, styles, and accessories that will complement your session's aesthetic. We also have a small collection of maternity gowns available for you to choose from.
Can my partner and other children join?
Absolutely. Maternity sessions are a celebration of your growing family, and we warmly welcome partners, children, and even pets to be part of the experience. We'll coordinate outfits and poses to ensure everyone feels included and comfortable. These images become treasured memories of this special time as a family.
Where will the session take place?
Maternity sessions can take place in our private studio or outdoors at a location of your choice. We love capturing the golden light of sunset at beautiful outdoor locations throughout Montecito and Santa Barbara. During your consultation, we'll discuss location options and choose the setting that best reflects your style and vision.
How long does a maternity session last?
Maternity sessions typically last between -1.5 to 2 hours-. This allows plenty of time for outfit changes, different poses, and capturing a variety of images without feeling rushed.
When will we receive our photographs?
Your images are individually selected and meticulously hand-edited to reflect the timeless quality that defines Lumière. Within approximately -2 to three weeks-, you'll receive access to your private online gallery where you can view your collection and choose your favorite artwork.
